How to register phytosanitary products

Registration of new plant protection products will be for a period of 5 years, after which compliance with the requirements that determined their authorization and inclusion by ZERYA will be reviewed again and may be extended for another period of 5 years. To register plant protection products, the manufacturer must contact ZERYA in order to formalize the corresponding user license contract, which will detail the requirements that must be met for the use of the brand. Manufacturers of plant protection products may register all the products they wish. The definitive incorporation of the product into the authorized lists will take place after approval by ZERYA, where it will be verified that it complies with the requirements described within the following categories:

5 Authorized Categories

Conventional Phytosanitary product with MRL set in EUROPE by current legislation including synergists (ZERYA Conventional List).

Phytosanitary product exempt from MRLs (ZERYA Low Impact List) under current legislation in Europe (this category includes microorganisms, basic substances, physical barriers, traps, sexual confusion mechanisms, repellents, attractants, baits and other substances that influence the behavior or appearance of pathogens but are exempt from MRLs)

Biostimulants and Nutritionals: Biostimulants and nutritionals are those formulations whose function is purely physiological or stimulating, without any biocidal effect, including those that induce defenses. Such products must comply with the provisions of current legislation and fall into one of the functional categories provided for in European Regulation 2019/1009.

Post-harvest Products: So that a product for post-harvest use without phytosanitary residues can be included in the ZERYA list.

Devices that generate and/or emit disinfectant or biostatic substances exempt from MRLs. This category includes devices that generate or emit a disinfectant substance considered to be low risk or exempt from MRLs to irrigation systems, chambers or nebulizers, such as:

  1. Ozone
  2. Hydrogen peroxide
  3. Electrolyzed water
  4. Parrot dioxide
  5. Nano air bubbles

Validation criteria applied to ZERYA® registered phytosanitary products:

  1. Uniformity in formulation
  2. Multi-residue analysis
  3. Laboratory efficacy
  4. Effectiveness in the field
  5. Ease of handling
